|Because there are no rehearsals before the sing-alongs, it's imperative you LEARN YOUR PARTS BEFORE YOU ARRIVE.
To make it easy we've separated all the vocal and instrumental tracks on the song so singers and musicians can hear each part clearly.
Here are some IMPORTANT RULES to follow:
SINGERS and MUSICIANS: YOU MUST ADHERE TO THE MELODIES AS WRITTEN! There's a huge difference between an original record and a cover version, which is what you hear on American Idol and The Voice, where singers riff all over the place but you still have the original song melody in your head.
"THE D", however, is an ORIGINAL RECORD. Which means that
you must sing the song as the melody is written and that you must play the arrangement as written.
When we assemble to sing "The D", we will record the song two times. The second time through you can riff in the choruses as well as in the 32 bar long instrumental break.
